Programs are tweaked for age appropriateness.
Self-Esteem: It is our belief that girls would carry themselves graciously and confidently when they recognize high self-worth and self-esteem. This workshop further incorporates basic social skills and mannerism. We also tackle the ever growing issue of bullying and conflict resolution.
Ambitions The participants are disciplined to create and set personal goals. We explain how goal setting and staying on target influence positivity.
Social Media Etiquette: We instill the importance of positive body image. In this ever changing media driven society, FTA has included a workshop on proper etiquette for social media users. It is important for them to understand the repercussions of one bad decision. The effects can last a lifetime. This workshop deals with this popular, yet unpopular subject.
The U.R.B.A.N Workshop: Unleashing Real Beauty Acquired Naturally segment deals with hygiene, beauty, skincare, and the proper ways of dressing for any occasion.
Dining Etiquette Workshops: Casual and Fine Dining classes include a buffet style luncheon or dinner at the conclusion of the program.

In Just 5 Minutes Etiquette
Finer Things Academy (FTA) realized the correlation between health, wellness, self-esteem and academic success. It is very difficult for a young lady to do well in school when they are unhealthy or possess low self-esteem. In Just 5 Minutes we introduces etiquette, positive affirmations, and self-esteem lessons in a way that girls will retain. Once sports begin they are given the tools for discipline, team work and leadership skills.
In 2012, FTA implemented its first elementary school girls’ volleyball league in the Youngstown City School District. Girls from grades 3-6 participated in volleyball practices, games and a tournament. With over 70 girls and their families in attendance for the tournament, FTA set a precedent for girl’s elementary school sports. We are now partnered with the Youngstown City School District and Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center to continue growing this area of athletics. Our concentration is and will be volleyball and basketball for the elementary school girls. Ultimately we are confident that we can create AAU teams.

FYG: Polish Your Swagger Workshops
Set up differently from the U.R.B.A.N. Etiquette and Elegance: This program focuses strictly on male participants. Programs are tweaked for age appropriateness.
Paths not to follow: The first part of this program is designed to show participants the life they do not want. Communicating with mentors experienced with the prison system, they will be shown why they do not want to end up living a life of crime and dishonor. It will be clearly understood at the end of this segment that such lifestyles only breeds prison an entrapment to peril. We call this “My Freedom- What it’s Worth To Me?”
Reality Check - “Hip Hop vs. Hip Hype”: Dispelling important myths that our boys are being brainwashed to believe is the main objective of this segment. Participants are presented the truth about celebrity role models and the misguiding of stardom.
Self-Esteem: After showing them the essential truths, it is time to construct their self-esteem the right way and grow their confidence with the right tools of life such as self-respect, self -confidence and the long-term profit in working smarter. Participants are then introduce to real-life successful role models and mentors for positive guidance.
“Polish Their Swagger”: We will nourish them with the ways to tie a tie, proper social etiquette, dining etiquette, travel etiquette and much, much, more!

Finer Things Academy (FTA) offers a group of etiquette, protocol and comportment workshops to give the tools necessary to re-enter the workforce, or sharpen skills for the occupation advancement.
Being exceptional in networking and social skills are necessary in this competitive climate. FTA classes are entertaining, educational, hands-on, and interactive. We focus on 21st century living. It is with pride and honor that we have the opportunity to educate individuals with the social skills and proper manners that are expected in everyday life interactions.
The types of workshops we offer:
Corporate Etiquette: a series of workshop for corporations or organizations desiring to sharpen networking and social skills for their employees in the workplace. Especially good for corporations with a young workforce.
Re-Entry: Unfortunately we have a high incarceration population. As these individuals get out, (some even with skills and degrees) finding a job is complicated enough without the social skills necessary to at least get in the door. FTA works with that population to prepare them to be re-acclimated into the community and become productive and accepted citizens.
Welfare to Work: The need for employable adults is growing, but without the skills to get through the interview process being hired is very unlikely. We teach interviewing skills, how to dress, act, walk and introduce the very best authentic workshop attendee.
