Finer Things Academy (FTA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization established in 1999 to provide career enhancing etiquette, social skills, “extreme” self-esteem trainings and intramural sports programs vital for the development of youth and young adults in the community. We also offer re-entry, welfare to work, corporate etiquette workshops.
LEADERSHIP:
Founder and C.E.O. Kathy Hammond-Baldwin leads the FTA team as a well-recognized national consultant for the Survival Etiquette Group headquartered in Palo Alto, California. She is now in her 19th year teaching etiquette, social skills and life skills in the Youngstown and surrounding areas. Kathy has been teaching etiquette classes in the school system for much of her 19 years. She is also an instructor for the Upward Bound Program for teenagers at Youngstown State University.
The Vice President and C.O.O. Kara Carter-Price, BA, MSW. Kara is also an etiquette consultant for FTA. With a Master’s Degree in social work and her concentration in policy and procedures, she facilitates the policies used by FTA.

PROGRAMS EFFECTIVENESS:
Various programs span grades K-12, and young adults. Age appropriate curriculum designed to educate students about their self-worth and social skills preparing them to be progressive social beings in their adult lives. With an understanding that confident and self-assured youth can supersede in any arena, our programs specialize in Self-Esteem, Goal Setting, Health & Fitness, Community Service, Tutoring and Mentoring, Dining and Social Etiquette, and Handling Job Interviews, along with many other self-improvement courses. Finer Things Academy has also provided etiquette workshops for re-entry and welfare to work adults. We prepare them to launch into the workforce putting their best foot forward! Business workshops are offered to businesses wanting to improve customer service in their respective companies. Proper etiquette and comportment have proven effective and needed by people across the spectrum. No matter their socio-economic situation or pedigree… Modern Manners Matter!
